ASL acquired this 17 acre site in May 2012 from Allied Irish Bank and immediately began promoting its credentials as a residential site, despite its allocation for employment use in the Local Plan.
Planning
ASL engaged immediately with Cheshire East Planning Officers to make a strong case for a change of allocated use from employment to residential. This would then allow for a planning application to be submitted which was in accordance with the Development Plan. The outline application for 162 new houses was submitted in November 2012 and unanimously approved at Planning Committee in April 2013, before the decision was issued and S106 agreement signed in December 2013, just 13 months following the submission of the application.
Marketing and Disposal
The site was marketed immediately and following a highly competitive bidding process, Redrow were chosen as the preferred bidder, with the sale completing at the end of February 2014.
